Double Star Dance

Donald Rothberg is a leading teacher and writer on meditation and socially engaged spiritual practice. He has taught and practiced Buddhist meditation for over 30 years, and his engaged work has pioneered new ways of connecting inner and outer transformation.  He is a member of the Teacher's Council at Spirit Rock Meditation Center and author of "The Engaged Spiritual Life."

News! This spring, I'll be teaching more on "Wise Speech," with a week-long non-residential retreat on Mindful Communication in Berkeley May 23-29, taught with Nyaniko Oren Sofer, with whom I've taught the last two retreats integrating mindfulness, wise speech, and non-violent communication (NVC) at Spirit Rock. The retreat will have an optional follow-up group meeting for several months to stabilize the wise speech practice. I'll also be teaching more on "Transforming the Judgmental Mind," with an East Bay Meditation Center daylong on July 28, and a retreat September 14-21 (with Heather Sundberg); all will have optional monthly follow-up groups meeting in Berkeley. I also look forward to continuing an exploration of "embodied awakening" through meditation and dance, in collaboration with Heather Munro-Pierce, through a two-day non-residential retreat at Spirit Rock on July 8 and 9, and a five-day retreat at Esalen, October 13-18
